1/ US pellet exports at 835,553 metric tons in October
- The U.S. exported 835,552.7 metric tons of wood pellets in October, up from both the 796,988 metric tons exported the previous month and the 750,997.7 metric tons exported in October 2022, according to data released by the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service on Dec 6.
- The U.S. exported wood pellets to approximately 17 countries in October. The U.K. was the top destination for U.S. wood pellet exports at 476,743 metric tons, followed by the Netherlands at 125,978 metric tons and Japan at 119,128 metric tons.
- The value of U.S. wood pellet exports reached $155.47 million in October, up from both $147.53 million in September and $132.29 million in October of last year.
- Total U.S. wood pellet exports for the first 10 months of 2023 reached 7.88 million metric tons at a value of $1.45 billion, compared to 7.38 million metric tons exported during the same period of 2022 at a value of $1.28 billion.
2/ US wood pellet exports at 655,649 metric tons in November
- The U.S. exported 655,649.2 metric tons of wood pellets in November, down from 835,552.7 metric tons in October and 694,035.4 metric tons in November 2022, according to data released by the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service on Jan. 9.
- The U.S. exported wood pellets to more than a dozen countries in November. The U.K. was the top destination for U.S. wood pellet exports during the month at 407,458.3 metric tons, followed by Japan at 123,140.1 metric tons and Denmark at 63,317.1 metric tons.
- The value of U.S. wood pellet exports fell to $116.84 million in November, down from $155.47 million the previous month and $119.99 million in November 2022.
- Total wood pellet exports for the first 11 months of 2023 reached 8.53 million metric tons at a value of $1.57 billion, compared to 8.08 million metric tons exported during the same period of 2022 at a value of $1.4 billion.
